Yesterday I drove through a small village called Cuba, in Portugal, with the solar mobile. In Italy they say he's Italian, in Spain they says he's from Spain, but here in Cuba they are sure: Christopher Columbus was a spy for King Joao II and was born here. One major clue they have is that explorers used to call the first land they discovered after their place of birth. And the first land Christopher found was... Cuba :-) In Cuba I also met Antonio. He made some photos of the solar mobile and showed me his bar, Cubas, which was totally in Cuban style: cuban music, portaits of Che and Fidel on the wall, etc. (Cuba also has an office of the Partido Comunista Portugues, the Portugese Communist Party, in town. Communism still is pretty big here). Then he gave me a plastic bag, filled with cans of Coke, ice tea and bags of roasted peanuts: travel food :-) Thanx Antonio!
