FAQ

(english only)

IAMONEWORLD

- Why is the project called iamoneworld and not ‘we are one world’?
Because we implies there is more than one, so it doesn’t imply unity. And contradictions tend to reveal truth ;-)

CONTRIBUTE
-I would like to contribute to the project: what can I do?
You can buy a share, alone or with other people (work, neighbours, school). You can make a donation or send an email if you want to contribute in another way: contact@iamoneworld.com. For all options to contribute, click here.

SHARES
- What do I receive when buying a share?
When buying a share, you are entitled to:
1) A personalized iamoneworld share with your name on it (digital file, printable).
2) A work of art of your choice (digital file, printable). Participating artists are: Elspeth Diederix, Jeroen Kooijmans, Maarten de Man, Noor Bongers, Simone van Bakel, Frans Beerens, Anet van de Elzen, Esther Kokmeijer and Ingrid van den Boogaard.
3) You can write your name on the Mobile Solar Studio! Signing days are limited, are prior to departure and are strictly personal.
4) If you wish you can be part of the shareholders list on the website.
For more information about shares, click here.

- What happens with the money collected from the shares?
The money you pay for your share is almost immediately invested in the project, for instance to build the Mobile Solar Studio (MSS). For example: if we sell four hundred shares, we can build a simple version of the MSS; two thousand shares will get us a more advanced model.
When the MSS and necessary equipment are complete, we start rolling! During the trip you can keep on buying shares (we are releasing a new share every year to fund the next part of the journey). If for whatever reason money or energy stop flowing to the project, it is not possible to get a refund, for the obvious and simple reason that it has already been invested.

- I want to sponsor iamoneworld, is that possible?
As a person: yes. iamoneworld is funded mainly by crowd funding, so you can for instance buy shares or contribute in another way. As a company there are also limited possibilities. Creative proposals as well as questions can be send to: contact@iamoneworld.com

TRAVEL/TRIP
- Do you travel alone?
Yes, but people can come visit me of course. And sometimes stay in the Solar Motel :)

- Will you do the trip all at once?
No, probably not. The intended route takes approximately four years. That’s a long time. Every once in a while I will go home so I don’t get alienated from friends & family ;) And concerning my work as an artist, I also have some obligations that will take me home a few times.

- Can you visit me/a friend of mine/a certain place?
We are working on a special travel application. The route will be made visible on Googlemaps. We are looking for a way for people to leave interesting pin points on the map. Or you can use another way to get in touch of course. Your ideas are welcome!

- Can I travel with you part of your trip?
Well, the intention is to make this journey on my own and meet people on the way. It will however be possible to drive with me for a couple of hours or even stay for a couple of days. More information will become available as departure gets closer.

PRODUCTS
- Why are some downloads free?
I like to experiment with different kinds of validation of products.
I love to share some things I have to offer. I can’t tell what the value of that is for you, but you can. If you like what I’m doing and want to give something in return, you can for instance make a donation. Or offer me lunch, a good shower or a new camera;) That would be very nice. But I would appreciate it even more when you start (or keep) sharing some of your own qualities without restrain. In this way we can support each other by sharing the things we love to do or resources we have plenty of. I understand that this can be different for products made of matter. You already have production costs, for instance. In the iamoneworld shop prices are fixed (and sometimes based on artificial shortage ;). So this is just a plain shop, like we’re used to! :)
